I am pleased to present Slippery Willie's Stupid, Ugly Shoes for it's November 1st book tour stop. Slippery Willie's Stupid, Ugly Shoes is a amusing book about how people view us and how we view ourselves. The author was able to put together a cute story that any child will love and at the same time send a message to help children see we are sometimes wrong about the way people will view us or what we wear.

Slippery Willie has a problem. He can't stop slipping and sliding on his slippery feet. Not even shoes and socks have helped him not to slide. The problem is solved when he gets special shoes. He thinks they are the ugliest things he's ever seen and is sure all the children are going to laugh at him. Once he puts them on though he is able to walk without slipping and he finds he was wrong about what people would think.

The illustrations in this book are well done and colorful. They go along with the story perfectly and make the story that much more funny. Children will love flipping through this book looking at the pictures.

I would recommend this book to people with children ages 6-10 years old. I would also like to add this would be a great book for children who have to wear something different than other kids because of special medical needs.

Great Job Mr. Peterson you've created a book that will sure to be a favorite for generations to come.

LARRY PETERSON was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. As a freelancer, he has written many newspaper columns for local publications. "Slippery Willie's Stupid, Ugly Shoes" is his first children’s book. Peterson has lived in Pinellas Park, Florida for the past 30 years.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Basically, I am a “blue-collar guy”. It is the world I come from, a world of hard working, hard drinking construction workers, cops, longshoremen, firemen, railroad workers, bus drivers, truckers, sanitation workers, etc. who were, for the most part, family men who loved their God, their families and their country---unconditionally. Consequently, if you would ask me to describe my work as a writer I would call it “blue-collar” meaning that I believe my work is simple fair, easily readable, no-nonsense, minimally superlative, and flows quickly. There is lots of dialogue and my tendency to be omniscient is obvious. I think that is because the characters and I are part of each other and I know what they are thinking
